The Forgotten Story of History
by Kate Mullen

Millions of years ago in a faraway solar system there was a tiny planet. The inhabitants of the planet had long ago banished disease, poverty and violence from their communities. Their vast cities had caused serious pollution problems.

Shuttles were already being made to transport the inhabitants to a newly discovered planet. Pollution rates were so high that in some areas the beings were forced to wear gas masks. The normally peaceful planet panicked.

Soon the shuttles were ready. The beings eagerly packed provisions and their belongings aboard the ships. In fear of enemy life forms in the new planet's outer solar system the nations packed an able supply of nuclear arms.

The journey was not without it's problems. The trip took longer than expected. Provisions had to be rationed. The beings grew tense and fear clung to the air. It was a long, cold journey.

When the beings reached the planet they were careful to build only small communities. The rulers, weapons not being their top priority, neglected the nuclear arms they had brought with them. One day about a decade after they reached the planet three nuclear bombs went off.

Most of the new planet was blown up instantly. All that remained was barren black tundra. The places that the bombs hit worst were reduced to huge desolate craters and black charred canyons. It would take hundreds of years to recover. The planet's survivors were mutated into small ape-like creatures. They were left with no knowledge of the past.

The human race had begun.
